Bristol Community College libraries will always be a safe space for all patrons. We are unwavering in our commitment to supporting communities, social justice, and abolishing intolerance.
What is LGBTQI?
"Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States." For more information please visit: About LGBT Pride Month
The Bristol Community College Libraries has created an LGBTQI (LGBTQI stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and Intersex.) LibGuide that pulls together all types of information about LGBTQI topics. This LibGuide can be utilized to share knowledge and information about topics associated with LGBTQI issues and resources. Please feel free to explore what has been created! If you know of any other books, ebooks, videos, articles, internet resources or other resources, please contact Susan Souza-Mort at email@example.com
Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed annually on November 20th and aims to highlight the lives lost due to anti-trans violence. Bristol’s HERO Club seeks to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all and, in recognition of the day, we ask that all of our LGBTQ+ friends, family and allies take a moment this weekend to remember all those impacted by anti-transgender hate and violence.
