RESEARCH GUIDES
The bulk of the Library Learning Commons website is made up of Research Guides, consisting of Course Guides, Subject Guides, and Topic Guides. These guides are designed to help you have a greater understanding of the subject or topic, point you in the direction of good research practices, and guide you towards reliable resources for further information and research.
Course Guides are created for a specific class, and often a specific instructor. They focus on the topic and the assignment(s) given in that class. Please note: all course guides will be removed at the end of the semester.
Subject Guides focus on the courses of study offered at Bristol. They are general in nature and suggest reliable resources for more information on the subject. These are a good place to start if you are trying to narrow your field of study focus, or if you have a course in a subject that is completely unfamiliar to you.
Topic Guides are often created around "hot topic" issues, though not always. They can deal with current events, political issues, research topics, information science, and more.
