What is End of Life Care?

Hand holding at end of lifePalliative care is comprehensive, interdisciplinary care focused primarily on improving the quality of life for people with terminal illness and for their families. Palliative care attempts to address the unmet needs of individuals facing the end of life. Patients want relief from pain and symptoms, to maintain a sense of control, and to avoid burdening their family.
