Why does Frankenstein still appeal to modern day audiences?

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein recently celebrated its 200th birthday. That it is still being read and adapted into film versions and stage productions is quite an accomplishment for a text that was written as part of a friendly competition by a young woman in the 1800’s. What is it about this text that still resonates with audiences two centuries later? This final essay will allow you to explore that very question.

In an analysis essay, you will need to develop a thesis that answers the question: why does Frankenstein still appeal to modern day audiences?
