Bristol librarians are available to help you with your research. We provide guidance in locating information and using resources available through the library and on the internet. If you need research help, using the chat box is a fast and easy way to reach out to us!
One of the first things you need to know about the BCC libraries is that your BCC Campus Card provides a unique, 14-digit number on the back side that serves as your Library card. Once you receive your ID, come to the circulation desk at any of the BCC campus libraries to have your library account activated. This must be done once each academic year. An activated library card gives you access to all of the libraries' subscription databases, electronic books and streaming video. You will also be able to borrow books from your campus library as well as request delivery of books and other academic resources owned by other libraries.
We get it: you need to use the library when it's convenient for you, and that might mean when campus buildings are closed. With your activated BCC Campus Card, you have access to high-quality, academic resources from the library anytime, anywhere! The subpages in this section will explain how to search library catalogs and article databases. Some of the library's online resources are 'locked down,' due to copyright and licensing agreements. If you are researching from off-campus, you will see this Remote Access Log-in, shown below. Simply type in your 14-digit BCC Library ID (located on the backside of the card), and you're in!
