COM101: Fundamentals of Public Speaking (Furtado): Home

Welcome to the Research Guide for COM101: Fundamentals of Public Speaking.  Please use this guide to find resources for your Persuasive Argument Speech.  Please contact myself or any BCC Librarian if you have any questions.

What is persuasion?

According to the World of Sociology, "Persuasion is a form of social influence in which an attempt is made to alter the beliefs or attitudes of an individual regarding some issue, person, or situation. Persuasion is accomplished through the use of information, discussion, or argument regarding the topic of interest." This guide will help you find information for your persuasive speech.
