Citing your sources is an important part of formal communication, whether verbal or written. When sources are not cited instructors cannot verify your sources and your credibility may be questioned. To avoid this outcome, follow the instructions and examples found in the links below. Most papers in the Social Sciences call for APA format, those in the Humanities for MLA, but many instructors will allow the student to choose the format he or she prefers.
