Student WorkStudy Training Guide: Customer Service

Customer Service

As the front line of the Library Learning Commons, BCC depends on our student workers to help patrons with day to day library activities, as well as common issues students might face. You might be called upon to help a student locate a book, or schedule an appointment with a tutor, or place an item on inter-library loan. You'll be trained to help these students with these common issues, as well as much more. But the most important thing to remember is to be kind, understanding, and polite. These students do not have the same training you do--our job is to help them learn, so that they can succeed on their own.

Remember: a patron's borrowing habits are considered private by law, and should not be shared with others under any circumstances.
